Red Chris Mine

The Red Chris Mine is a 29,066 hectare copper and gold mine in the Sacred Headwaters on the territory of the Tahltan Nation. Imperial Metals’ production target is 90-100 million pounds copper and 60-70,000 ounces gold for 2016.

Huckleberry Mine

The Huckleberry Mine is a 19,780 hectare copper mine near Houston, BC on the territory of the Wet’suwet’en people. In February 2016, Huckleberry Mines Ltd (an Imperial subsidiary) announced that operations would be suspended due to the falling price of copper.

Mount Polley Mine

Mount Polley is a 19,601 hectare open pit copper and gold mine on Secwepemc territory. On August 4, 2014, the tailings pond breached and released its slurry of mining waste into Polley Lake, Hazeltine Creek, Quesnel Lake and Cariboo Creek in one of the worst environmental disasters in the history of so-called Canada. After a suspension of operations, Imperial Metals submitted an application to the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) in March 2016 for a permit to resume normal operations. After authorization by the B.C. government, the Mount Polley Mine has resumed releasing mining effluent directly into Quesnel Lake. Production in 2016 is dependent upon receipt of the permit to allow for return to full operations.

Ruddock Creek is a proposed zinc and lead mine on the territory of the Secwepemc Nation. The Ruddock Creek property is located 155 km NE of Kamloops, British Columbia, encompassing 21,156 hectares and consisting of 42 mineral claims.
